Response times – The interview

Today, we’re catching up with Leanne, Co-Director at Mobihose, to talk about something crucial for anyone in construction, and anyone running any plant and machinery – response times. Let’s delve into how Mobihose keeps you working when you have a problem with your hoses, rams, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Q: We know response time is critical for our customers. Why is it so important?”

Leanne: In our line of work, every minute of downtime can cost a lot of money and disrupt schedules. Our customers rely on us to get their machinery back up and running as quickly as possible. That’s why we’ve made fast response times a top priority.

Q: How fast can customers expect you to respond to an emergency breakdown?

Leanne: We aim to respond to emergency breakdowns within the hour whenever possible. Our team is on standby 24/7, ready to jump into action. We know that a quick response is vital to getting a site back up and running.

Q:  What’s the process like once a customer calls in with an issue?

Leanne: When a call comes in (via phone or our online customer portal), our first step is to understand the problem. We ask a few quick questions to assess the situation and check that we’ll have the right parts in the van. Then, our nearest available technician is dispatched to the site immediately, equipped to handle the issue on the spot.

Q: How do you ensure that your team can respond so quickly?

Leanne: It’s all about preparation and logistics. We have a well-stocked inventory of parts and tools, so we’re always ready to go. Each van is equipped with the most commonly required parts and equipment, so we can make industrial strength hoses and other components on the spot. Our team is strategically located throughout our service area, which includes Brighton, London, Kent and the Home Counties to ensure we can reach any site swiftly.

Q: What happens if a breakdown occurs outside of regular business hours?

Leanne: We offer 24/7 emergency services, 365 days a year. Whether it’s late at night or early in the morning, our team is ready to assist. Machinery doesn’t wait for business hours to break down, so neither do we.

Q: What’s the feedback from customers regarding your response times?

Leanne: Our customers really appreciate our quick response. It gives them peace of mind knowing that they can count on us in an emergency. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback and repeat business because of our reliability and speed.

Q: Finally, any tips for customers to help reduce response times even further?

Leanne: Absolutely, one tip is to provide as much detail as possible when you call. This helps us prepare better before we arrive on site. Also, regular maintenance can prevent a lot of emergencies.
